This garden, located along a path connecting the municipal library and the La Prairie youth center, features edible plants grown in textile pots and gardening tables, as well as a spectacular Corten steel arch. An urban orchard of sea buckthorn, cherry, apple, and pear trees has also been created around the vegetable growing areas. The harvests are available to La Prairie residents, who are invited to pick fruits and vegetables at their convenience.

When people are proud of where they live, they are more likely to spend time there. Scientific studies have shown that common spaces are used more when there are trees and plants, and that with this increased use, the social ties between residents of a neighborhood tend to strengthen. This strengthening of ties increases the community's sense of support, which is likely to improve citizens quality of life.

This outdoor landscaping was designed and built in collaboration with Wallemi.
