Founded in 1991, Extreme Horticulture / Les Jardins d’Albert Inc. specializes in the design and implementation of landscaping in extreme locations, primarily on and inside buildings.

Thanks to the various phytotechnologies we have developed, we are able to green buildings from basement to rooftop.

Extreme Horticulture / Les Jardins d’Albert Inc. is also renowned for the urban farms, edible gardens and ecological landscaping projects it has created in recent years.

Albert Mondor

President of Extreme Horticulture/ Les Jardins d’Albert Inc., Albert Mondor is an horticulturist and biologist. Passionate about ecological horticulture and urban agriculture, he a plant lover and has been a professional horticulturist and garden designer for 40 years. Over the years, Albert Mondor has designed and created numerous parks, gardens, and indoor and outdoor vertical landscapes, which has allowed him to acquire an intimate knowledge of plants and develop various methods for successfully combining them.

In addition to giving numerous courses and lectures across Canada, Albert Mondor has written a weekly column in the Casa section of the Journal de Montréal and the Journal de Québec since 1999. In the spring of 2022, he launched a new book entitled Potager à l’année (Year-Round Vegetable Garden), after publishing eleven other books about horticulture and landscaping. He also regularly appears on various radio and television shows as a host or columnist, including "Le Jardinier branché"" videos broadcast on Météo Média and "Manger"" TV show with Boucar Diouf broadcast on the Explora channel.

In 2014, Albert Mondor received the prestigious Henry Teuscher Award from the Montreal Botanical Garden, an honor recognizing his exceptional contribution to the advancement of knowledge and understanding in the field of horticulture in Quebec. In 2023, he also received the Larry Hodgson Award for Horticultural Communication, which recognizes a communicator who helps the general public develop their knowledge, skills, and appreciation of the role of gardening on health and the environment.

Guillaume Brunet

Guillaume is a civil engineer. Founder and president of Wallemi, Guillaume Brunet is a consultant and key contributor to Extreme Horticulture / Les Jardins d’Albert Inc. He discovered his passion for extreme greening, particularly living walls, while studying at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. While observing the installation of a green wall on campus, he decided to use his engineering knowledge to learn more about vertical greening.

Thus, in 2014, he launched his company to promote biodiversity and connect people with nature while helping them realize the benefits of reintegrating plants into our urban spaces. His deep understanding of design and construction concepts allows him to create living walls that are not only aesthetic but also built to last.

Guillaume is deeply passionate about plants. Demonstrating a keen sense of innovation, he regularly organizes trips to explore and discover new plant species suitable for growing on green walls. This distinctive approach reflects his determination to push the boundaries of biodiversity presented in his vertical landscaping.
